Heh-heh, that's before my time. But there should be a standard to say that the exhaust tip should have no more than a 10 or 20 mm gap between it and the car for the sake of looking good.

Nice job Egg! :D

Yes they look sweet pushed up closer to the body. How did you push them up I Wish? Fit smaller rubber eyelet thingies for the exhaust hangers?

But more importantly, how do they perform!?! I'd be interested to know from either of you guys if you noticed any improvement to engine performance over time... power, torque and/ or fuel economy. Also, any chance of a sound file once they've been worn in?

Cheers,
Deucer.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but I've gotten the impression somehow that the STi Genomes are just rebadged Fujitsubo's. Am I right?

Makes sense to me... Subaru being a subsiduary company of Fuji Industries and all.

No need to change rubber hangers etc.

My exhaust guy just got out the oxy and heated up the hangers. Used a stand to push them up when hot enough.

wow!! These look amazing... 8).. hope they sound nice too!!

do you have a sound file to go with the pics Egg?? I'd be really keen to hear what sort of note is coming outta these on the n/a with this particular muffler before getting some a set of mufflers... otherwise i may just have to wait for someone to sell their old ones..

Sorry no sound file, but they have beed getting a bit deeper in sound recently, last night was the 1st time I actually had passengers in the back seat of the car. The car was louder down low than normal I think coz I had full car load.

Also sounded nice coming through the Burnley tunnel. Overall Im happy I got em as when you are cruising at 80-100 its nice and quiet and you dont hear much, but when you boot it it actually sounds ok.

So far Im happy.

You could try to get a second hand set off import monster and see how you go as well.

Push em up!

Postby MH3.0R » Sat Apr 12, 2008 2:18 pm

Egg,

Did you get to set them up a bit higher? I agree with the other comments about the height making a difference.

BTW, anytime soon to meet up and hear them in person?

Kind Regards,

Mark.

The way I look at it, I paid enough already buying the car new, so a little bit extra for some mufflers for a one off mod is worth it I reckon.

Then prob around tax time I will get that v tune as well.
