Hi, new to the forums and wanna ask a question.

I test drove an '08 liberty today and noticed some power lag when I put my foot down to take off, and after a few seconds it started to get going.

Is this normal? It was an auto if that makes a difference.

Just the nature of the beast.

More of a top end motor than a low speed grunter......




....mind you I stepped out of a Commodore so I lived with low end grunt for years!

Yeh it's the nature of the drive by wire and the motor .
Im sure a tune could sort some of it out.
Once the valve timing kicks in is where the fun is

It has 83,000kms and the price is $22,880 drive away with 5 years warranty, excluding wear and tear.

Is it a fair price?

As Dawesy said, Drive-By-Wire does have the tendency to 'lag' but also the engine design.

Auto doesn't do it any favours or Justice. Go manual and feel the difference.

Price isnt too bad for an 08 and those kms

Un-tuned the "power" really kicks in at around 3500-4000rpm.
Mine, tuned by Kido- kicks in closer to 2000. So much more fun!

im kido tuned! but still im thinking it really kicks in about 3000rpm +
i may need a re-tune

Its Steep - i got my car (my06 3rb wagon) with 65,000km's for $21k in pristine condition, and had it inspected by RACV for another $500
Just as an idea

Libz05 is selling his 05 pre FL for 19k stock with 80,000kms. And depending on condition, thats sounds a lot more reasonable.
