Front Bumper

Postby kmac » Mon Jan 07, 2013 1:30 pm

Further to differential/gearbox issues after my little prang (Hopeful that John French will fix it tomorrow with a simple transmission fluid flush out to unstick a hydraulic valve), when I got the car back from the smash repairer it was fitted with a Spec B front bumper. The car is a standard 3.0R Auto. If I decide to keep the new bumper, the front wheel arch liners also need to be replaced. Apparently the only way to order Subaru parts is with the VIN but if I use my VIN I will get the liners for the original bumper. Is there anyone with a 3.0R MY07 to 09 Spec B car prepared to "lend" me their VIN so the correct wheel arch liners can be ordered? Please PM me.

MY06 sedan JF1BLEKU56G020704.
Or find another dealer - one who knows how to use FAST and isn't a retard.

Thanks Luke
But I thought the Spec B with the different bumper didn't come out until the MY07 update? Is yours a Spec B?

Thanks Daniel

That was on the list. At this stage I have put it back on the insurance company, smash repairer and Subaru.

Here is my attempt at a custom Grill.

Wrapped the Chrome areas in Black Carbon Fibre (and a few other parts around the car). Will need a bit more practice in wrapping but it will survive for now...

Painted the plastic a glossy midnight black for a close match to the body paint.

Removed a couple of the inner plastic pieces (now that i look at it i'll probably remove the other bulky pieces behind the badge) and I put some mesh on for s**ts and giggles, but it didn't show up as visible as first thought so maybe chrome mesh for another project?!?

I have a 3.0R and have the standard bumper as you can see pictured in my avatar. Actually kind of looking to swap/buy a Spec B bar. Where are you located and what colour is it out of interest?

Mick.

Hi Mick

I expect I will keep the Spec B bumper but I am in the process of convincing my insurance company and smash repairer to provide the correct wheel arch liners, I think this is happening.
