Ah ok, Can't u just look at it and replicate it?

Do the tuners here in Australia steal tunes? I thought everyone would look at every ones else's tunes all the time

Matt put his street tune on my H6 a few weeks ago - I just wanted to dig up this thread to post another positive story about it. This car previously had an EcuTek tune on it (from the previous owner).

So far, I've noticed the following:

- vastly superior power through the lower half of second and third
- third now feels like it pulls almost as hard as second
- fourth pulls like third
- fifth and sixth both pull like fourth used to
- throttle somehow feels more 'direct' and responsive
- power through the rev range is much more linear

The engine feels that much more responsive now that it's hard to believe it's the same car at times. I can cruise in 6th gear at 60 and still speed up quite comfortably without downshifting.

None of that was actually my objective - my objective was fuel consumption. First tank after the tune the car achieved a full 20% improvement in kilometres driven on a tank in identical conditions. Awesome!

So in summary - significantly quicker, more responsive car and vastly better fuel economy. No signs of any problems so far. Great investment!

Yup, two years later after my original post on this thread I can confirm that my H6 still runs really well. :D

I've had a couple of tune updates with Matt since then and they've both offered good improvements in drivability and torque that patrickbateman is talking about.

If it wasn't for the tune I would have sold my H6 long ago because in stock form it was pretty dull drive.

Matt did an upgrade for me recently. Shaved another 0.5l per 100 from consumption. Coffs to tweed on a conservative drive came in at 7.6l/100. Coffs to tweed on normal take no prisoners run was 8.2km/100. Reckon i have saved 1.5l/100 on his tunes with better drivability... When you do 40,000 km a year his tune paid for itself in about 6 months.
Around town runs is similar figures ... Down from mid 12's to high 10's.

Imagine if Coffs Harbour could get rid of the 12 traffic lights we have in such a small town... economy would improve further! Got bettter economy driving around suburbia near my house then what we do in Coffs Harbour :(

7.6l/100 is amazing consumption!

According to the trip computer I'm averaging about 10.5-11.00l/100kms a tank at the moment and my runs to work are 30 minute highway drives at 100km/h. My 3.0RB is completely stock. I'm definitely going to get the tuning done :D

Hi Paul, it's Rob from NRG. We met a few years ago at Nick's, I've got the black Spec.B

My economy is around what your getting, however after the KiDo tune it has gotten better but nowhere near what Tonic posted. Let me know when your next at Nick's (via PM) and I'll meet you there.

Hi There,

I have been interested in getting a tune for my MY05 3.0 RB wagon by Matt (heard only good things on this tread), was just wondering what the cost usually is?
And my engines sitting at around 165,000kms, is it recommended to get done?

Thanks guys

cost is $400 with lifetime retunes, the amount of kms your car has shouldn't be an issue but Matt can confirm

The CAI shifts the torque band to the right significantly, essentially, it has less cylinder fill slightly at low rpm but obviously has the top end pull that we would expect from reducing intake vacuum at high rpm

My issue is very much the same. My drive to work is all freeway for about 30km each way, however I will be very lucky to average 9.8km/ 10km per 100kms. It seems better when I run it on BP 98 but seems to drink an excessive amount when first run.

So I was hoping Matt could help :D

With just a tune I have heard driveablity and economy are both much improved, but out of curiosity, is there any power increase?

Thanks
