Engine question

Postby cliffo3rb » Wed Sep 26, 2012 4:33 pm

Is that hole in the middle of the photo meant to have a plug in it? With the engine on i can see what seems to be the water pump gear spinning? It is on the passenger side right near the bottom radiator hose.

There is a fair bit of oil everywhere too.

it should be plugged with a welsh plug i think.

You can see inside the timing cover, which is where oil lives, so not good.
Built not bought, it's a way of life.

Had no luck with this problem.Went to Subaru and they tried to say it was a screw type plug,so I waited a couple of weeks for the part which they ended up loosing then finding again and it didn't fit.
It looks to be a threadless hole so who knows what goes in there.

Can someone please snap a quick photo next time they're under the car?

Cheers
