TiC 06-08 STi Bodacious Bushing Bundle

Guys, I just had an STi Short Shifter and the TiC 06-08 STi Bodacious Bushing Bundle installed in my MY06 wagon.
Wow, this bushing kit totally transforms the car. :D

The gear changes are now nice and direct and notchy, and what I would imagine a race cars gear changes would feel like.
To be honest though, my old bushings were shot and would have had about 2" of play side to side whilst in gear.

I bought the bushing kit from Entra Imports, who have great customer service.
My car is a 2005 MY06 3.0R-B, and apparently there were 2 different types of linkage bushes used on this model, so Nick at Entra Imports sent both versions and just asked that I return the used ones.

I didn't realise it previously, but this upgrade is a must.

Sounds awesome. I've wanted to do this myself for a while. Did you install everything yourself? I have an MY05 so probably a little different to yours, is that right? I've driven brand new 2012 STi's and the gear changes on them feels so precise and good! I'd love to get that feel on my Lib. Do you think this is the answer?

I had my mechanic install these bushings, my days of tinkering under the car are over. I know, I know, I've gotten soft right
The bushings were only $90 to buy, and the mechanic charged me $170 to install them with the STi Short Shifter. For that expense, I ain't getting under there.
I believe there are some instructions on one of the US forums for changing the shifter bushings. It sounded like a pain in the butt, but doable.
Maybe one of the other members here can shed some light on how hard it is to change the bushings, I'm sure a few have done this.

I think our cars are the same, so you should get the same feel as I have gotten.

I seriously wish that this was the first thing I did when I bought the car.
Do it, you'll love the feel of the gear changes.

Oh ok, not too expensive. Keen as now!

The Mighty Car Mods guys did a video on how to do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snzVyeIQ2ME

Still not confident enough to do it myself though.

Yeah I watched it, and it's a great video that shows clearly what needs to be done.
Looks like a bit of a pain in the butt though, unless you have the car up on a hoist.

C'mon Tim you can do it. If you can change the damn spark plugs in these cars, I'm sure these bushings will be a piece of cake.

I installed this kit in my 05 3RB a few weeks ago as the gearstick loose as all hell.

The install wasn't that bad, just got to remove the front exhaust and rear gearbox crossmember.

BUT... the increase in gearbox noise was huge. Entra's webiste says 'minimal NVH increase' which I think is misleading.
I ended up refitting the stock rear bush (destroyed the front stock one getting it out) and the noise is much better, only a bit more than stock. Gearstick feels the same as with the Kartboy rear bush.

Has anyone else experienced these noise increases with this kit?

Yep I had the same after installing this kit but have come to like the whine it makes.
