Noob question on xforce centre and Y pipe for H6

Ok, this is going to sound real noobie but hey, the only way to learn is to ask.

So, I'm in the look out for centre and Y pipe replacement and from what I could see from the forums, the main recommendation is to go with Xforce.

Have been going to the website and with the help of fellow member nic, I found out which ones to get from the xforce site.

Question:
- based on what's written on the xforce website, the mild steel centre and y pipes are all 2.25", so...
- what exactly would I be gaining with the replacement since the stock ones are 2.25" as well?

I might be getting a better sounding exhaust system but is that all?

Thanks!

not sure about size difference, i cant remember exactly.
xforce one doesnt have massive centre muffler/resonator like stock, just a small hotdog one. so youre getting better sound (obviously tradeoff with a bit of highway drone)
imo you get a slightly more responsive throttle and a few more killawasps. xforce one is more free-flowing/less restrictive
a tune in conjunction would exaggerate these benefits

Most of the Lib exhaust is double skinned, I cant say for certain about the very bit you are quoting but its very likely. This will mean the pipe inside is quite a bit smaller!

You could be making quite a gain ..........

I have the xforce s/s mid and ypipe on my 3rspecb. Stock middle pipe is 1.75" or 2" and the stock ypipe is even smaller. The xforce resonator is not as wide as stock but is pretty long. It does a very good job with reducing drone. Im very happy with it, much better then my custom cat back system. Im using magnaflow mufflers, which are not as loud as the xforce mufflers.

If you do end up buying the xforce cat back system, make sure you get the H6 one as our middle section pipe is different to the 4cylinder n/a model.

yeah mate, to be clear, I'm actually getting this one:

full cat back shown here but I'm only after the centre and y pipes.

Will be fitting in a nice pair of quad TCPs or Phats.

Thoughts on the xforce centre and y pipe with sti mufflers?

Anyone have this combo or even with the standard mufflers. Is there much extra sound but more importantly drone?
