Didn't realise ECUTEK had maps for a H6 - might have to visit my local supplier! I've been waiting for Versotune to come out with a map but still nothing.

Incidentally, just broke my own record for bad economy last week - 330kms before filling up = 16.6l/100. Didn't do anything out of the norm either

Last year I was looking into the Powerchip product. They list 3.0R options for 95 & 98RON fuel.

Power figures claimed at 190 / 194 respectively. No detail on fuel consumption though.

ECUTEK for 3RB.. where may I ask?

Recently had another V-Tune after having an exhaust mod done (Quad Tips) and while no real improvement was provided by the mufflers only mod, I have achieved a new record for economy in my 3.0R while driving a mix of city/freeway. I achieved 8.6 L/100Kms (conservative driving, nothin over 3000 rpm) and was so surprised to see it on the dial that I took a photo of it. There after, I took to driving normally (the odd squirt to 6500 rpm) and are consistently achieving 9.2 to 9.6 for the same city/freeway mix.

For those of you citing poor economy, consider the Power Flush of the Injectors, a dyno tune (mine was done by STi Melbourne) and maybe check some other things like the oil, oil filter, air filter etc.

Sean from S&J in Adel is leading the R&D with the 3.0R.

Ecutek are working closely with him and its not an easy ECU to tune from my discussions with him.

My opinion is that the 3.0rb is economical around town/city, on the freeway they rev at 2500, now that is pretty low considering its gears and diff ratios, but i also own a 6cyl el fairmont and it revs at 1800, now those fords and holdens are better than our subaru's on the freeway.

My trip computer says 10.4 to 10.8 combined driving and thats normal driving and not fast. I get between 500-650 a tank combined city and freeway, i think thats about 60ltrs full.

With the fairmont i get around 500-520 city and between 700-780kms on freeway (that was on princess, westage and monash freeway to and from work) thats normal driving, not fast for both cars and its a full 68ltr tank, not to bad from an old 4ltr, 4sp auto, family car with 2 heavy boxes for subs just added more weight.

For some reason my fairmont is pretty economical for what it is, maybe because of its high torque and maybe because of the mods i placed on it, cai, exhaust, head, extractors.

Oh and running e10 to 98 octane is no difference with the soobie. lol with my ford u can run it on shit fuel u can find and it would still bring same km per tank. I could fill up with e10 or 100 octane and it would still bring same kms.

Oh and one thing that could leave to great full economy is that i never had any problems with the ford, no oil leaks nothing, ONE big difference for the ford is it was never LPG so it never f36ked up. I bought it at 202K, the car did 140k in its first 3 years and it was a towing vehicle but was looked after. I did 50K on it, always serviced every 10k and looked after.

The soobie i cant say much on it as i only have had it for about 4k max, but bought it at 88k and looks like it doesnt leak etc.

700 is dead easy to get out of a tank on the highway in mine. hell even 800 isn't hard to get. you've got 64 litres to play with by the way

i highly doubt that the resonator removal has a 20% impact on your fuel economy...have you changed driving styles at all as well (more highway?)

I average 12.4L/100km. All short trips - and lots of full throttle action

In a 240km all-highway trip it drops to about 8.2-8.4 - cruise control in 6th gear.

Not bad for a 100k km+ engine!

Oh, and I've always used 98+ octane petrol.

I drove to see Clarence on Friday and I got mine to 7.6L /100km and I have the photo to back it up if anyone wants the proof. 

8.0 liters per 100km for entire trip. Never exceeded speed limit

For a full tank of fuel - 3.0RB manual - 118 00km

9.6 liters per 100km for a mix of town and country driving - very happy with that

Basically shifting though to 6th asap, never exceeding 3000rpm. A couple of 7000rpm blasts in the mix as well

Suprisingly efficient combo

In the stock roms, just keep below 4000rpm and below 50% Accelerator.
