How many klms has it done? Has the fuel filter been replaced yet?

About 95,000 and not to my knowledge.

Mechanic inspected the pump and filter and didn't see an issue, though I'm not sure if it's something which would be visible.

Car has pretty much been behaving itself since the whole pump assembly was removed and reinstalled. Very strange, but I'll see what happens over the coming month or so.

I would get the filter and 4 orings in the cradle and pump assembly replaced.

My lib doesn't start too easily either always gets there, but sounds a bit harsh getting there, esp when cold.
Just had 100k done, and was told intank fuel filter needs replacing. Isnt this a lifelong filter? (Which seems like shit to me anyway)

Resurrecting this one from the dead... The problem has resurfaced in mild form after running for quite some time with no issue. Isn't as severe as it was back in 2012.

I strongly suspect it is the o rings or something at the pump end of the system, given that removing and reinstalling it seemed to fix things last time. Tempted to install new pump, filter and o rings. Secondary excuse is preparation for possible future mods.

Dw maybe... I need to read up on what people have been using. If I upgrade the pump, does the duty cycle or similar need adjusting in the tune? If so, I guess this means the car is no longer compatible with the stock tune if I sell it?

Not enough e85 in these parts to bother sadly. Even with Matt's flex fuel voodoo.

Get a DW and also order a new fuel filter and new o-rings from Subaru. Might as well do it once and right.

Tune should not be effected.

+1 Starter Motor. Mine was sounding pretty bad. Cleaned it out. Worked fine for 2 days. Did exactly this and wouldn't crank over and just crapped itself. Awaiting delivery on a second hand one as Auto Electrician 'couldn't source parts'

Thats becoming common with many vehicles now, you cant get parts for a 2006 Hilux V6 starter either
