50K Service

Postby pplwu » Thu Nov 01, 2007 10:51 am

Hi Guys! I have just bought a 3.0 B and pending to settle. I am so excited to get the car. This is a second hand car and its due for the 50K service which I got quoted from Subaru for $730. Anyone know what is involved in this service? What will be changed? Thanks all!!

$660 here with semi-synthetic oil.

All fluids get changed, filters, upper engine cleaner. Check you service booklet for details; it has the schedule and recommended hours to be charged.

Reviving an old thread. My 3.0 RB will need its 50k service soon. Apart from the high fuel consumption which should hopefully addressed with the application of upper engine cleaner, therere seem to be no particular issues.

I plan to go to a Subaru dealer for this service. What is the current going rate for a 50k service for 3.0B?

Why wouldn't you just call up your nearest Subaru dealership and ask ?

You get an answer on the spot and saves you from waiting for a response on the forum.

1. Im not taking it to my nearest dealer as Ive dealt with them in the past and was not impressed. I wouldnt even bother calling them to get a quote.
2. My car has only done 49000 kms so I can wait.
3. I dont know how much variation there is in dealer servicing charges. A response or two would assist with myself determining if someone is trying to overcharge.
4. What are forms like these for if we cant ask questions?

Since your in Sydney call NRG Automotive on 96381037 and they will give you a quote. They are based in Rydalmere and are Subaru specialist.

I've taken my car there from new and have not had any issues, the dealers here in Sydney are a joke when it comes to customer service and their charges are outrageous.

I just got my 150k service done at a dealership (which I think is all the same items as @ 50k) and it was $778... so pretty much the OP price + inflation
