Hi Guys,
I’m booked in to get a tune done on the 27th at MSR for my 3.0rb.
can any of you guys recommend some quick, simple, easy mods I can do prior the tune to get a bit more out of it. Performance wise I currently have intake resonator removed, exhaust center resonator replaced with straight pipe (not sure if these help performance), K&N panel air filter, and straight through Hitech mufflers.
Cheers
B

100cel cats, 3rd reso delete (replace with y pipe).
Intake is okay, although you could get some alloy pipe bent up and put an Apexi Power Intake on the end.

thanks mate,
i've been thinking of getting the 3rd cat replaced with a y pipe, but will that cause an engine light to come on, also will that mate the car extremly loud?

I didn't get an engine light when I replaced my 3rd cat with a y pipe and yes the removal or the 3rd cat will make your exhaust note louder.

But don't worry won't make extremely loud

Hi guys,
Got my car tuned yesterday at MSR, ended up with 149kw at the wheels from 129kw before tune which im pretty happy with. but does that sound right?
a 20kw increase by just mufflers, K&N and tune, seem pretty good.

Yeah that sounds bout right. the 3rd cat that you replaced with a y pipe is a real choker on the kilerwatts, even if the car is bulk standard you can pull about 8-10kw out of the engine with a tune buy changing the exhaust and intake valve timing.

Ah awesome,
I didn’t get a chance the change the 3rd cat, but I will eventually do that down the track.
I was just pretty surprised with the kw gain.

Hey B, good to see the tune worked out. I just got my 3RB and am considering doing the same thing -- a tune plus replacing the third cat with a Y pipe.
Can I ask how does the car perform now at the low end to mid range, 1,500 to 4,000 revs that is? Do you get more torque and is it more responsive in that range?
Cheers...
