Clutch Advice - 2005 30RB 90000kms

Postby calis » Mon Sep 19, 2011 7:22 pm

Hi guys, so about 4 months ago I get my cousine to pull my boat out of the water and in the process he rode the clutch like a biarch and almost caught the thing on fire!
The amount of smoke pouring out from under the car was a terrible site to say the least and the smell didnt leave for about a week!

Anyway it drove fine for a few months but now I have the following symptoms:
- shudder at take off varying from terrible to bareble from one day to the next. been about 2 months putting up with it.
- noticed some slip if booting it up a hill but only a coupla times
- clutch engages at very top of pedel.
- 1st is a bit sticky

So maybe a replacement clutch needed or maybe just an adjustment?. Subaru adjusted it once before for shudder about 18 months ago.

New development! :angry2:
- The gear leaver seems to have HEAPs more side to side travel in it even when a gear is enaged.
- Rattle coming from the gear leaver mostly in 2nd and 4th but faintly in every gear. I can just touch the gear lever softly and it reduces.
- Loud clicking when changing gears

other then that gears engage fine other then 1st being sticky.

toasted clutch?

If a clutch a replacement is needed what exedy do in a HD clutch that will hold up better for towing? or can someone recommend something else?

And anyone had experience with A & B Motorsports Brookvale?
its just down the road from me so if any NB's crew can give some feedback that would be great.

cheers guys

p.s. sorry for all the details
