hey guys,
currently own a my05 3.0R-B and its done 54,000kms on it.
it says the next service aint due until 62,000kms.
but since i've bought the car i havent inspected or took it in for a service.
lately when i put the keys in the car and try start it, it seems like it struggles abit and then clicks in??!?!
any reason why?
do you guys reccomend me to take it for a service or a inspection.
i called tom kerr they said $115 for inspection and $250 for service...
Regards,

A lot of owners especially of low mileage vehicles have only ever serviced based on Kms, but not on time. E.g. for your car being a 2005 it should have had at least 9 or 10 services by now.

When I buy a second hand car I replace practically all the fluids in the car and start the service schedule from scratch, keeping track of every item myself with a spreadsheet.

You never know what the previous owner has had done (despite the service records), or quality of materials used.

so would you recommend me to get it serviced?
because id like All fluids get changed, filters, upper engine cleaner which will involve a service.

I'd say the battery may be on it's way out if it's having issues on start up.

Since you've bought a 2nd hand car, I would be getting a very thorough service. Maybe not to the level of flushing the radiator or changing gear box fluid, but if you can afford it, I would. At least then "you know" that everything is nice & fresh.

Do the dash lights do the startup dance sequence?

+1

i bought my Sherpa about 10 months ago, and even though it is a 23 year old car, I fully serviced it 3 times since i bought it including dumping the gearbox oil and replacing every filter.

I noticed that on my RB when the battery was on it's last legs. The dash/dial startup sequence did not happen that's all.

Supercheap has 550 cca bats for 49 bucks. Why you need anything else for a cas memory and stock compression engine in good knick I don't know? Will work fine for 5-6years. They start after turning over 360 degrees. Lol at a 300 dollar battery in an audm family pleb 6cyl.
