Difference between MY04 Outback and MY04 Liberty

Hey all,

I've had a good sniff around but not really found much apart from innuendo......what differences are there between the EZ30R used in a MY04 Outback with 5EAT, and a MY04 Liberty with 5EAT? I read something about one has an AFM and the other doesn't, but that seems a little odd.....like, why?

So are there any differences under the bonnet?
