My intention was not to offend. It was to correct some erroneous assertions and stop people from dissapointment when they don't achieve what they're advised is possible

Alright then. Settled. People won't be disappointed, it was merely a post of what the engine platform CAN be capable of. And admiring that fact. All is good. All settled. Maaaaaaaaaaad. :D

Do it. It's great fun :)

When you know what to look for - the 1/4 is a vey good indicator of on street performance, torque and top end power, especially on a manual N/a car.

Yeah I will, I always was going to start getting into it. I did a few runs in my old celica.

I am the only one who has it for the H6

Scyance had 153Kw@wheels on an E50 tune from his auto... catback exhaust and E85 tune.

To also put this into perspective, Grant had 230+Kw@4800rpm on a Mainline dyno in his manual H6 on E85 with a SC on just 4psi(at that rpm) so I would say that above 300Kw@crank is more than accurate... 330+g/sec of airflow on 8psi seems to suggest the numbers are right.

H6 into the 13's? FB group had the time slip posted a while ago. Considering a car with almost 300,000kms was running a flat 14... under 100,000kms was bound to get there.

alexeiwoody wrote:
Swipez...it's great that you're excited about your H6. It is a great engine and the gen4 is a fantastic platform. I don't think anyone here is trying to claim otherwise.

These numbers you're quoting so religiously about crank power and others...they're just that - "quotes". Not only are they "not quite" proven, as dynos measure power/torque at the hubs/tyres and not at the crank, but some like the "40% more fuel usage" and "300kw at the crank with a supercharger" are wrong. If you don't mind - let's stick to numbers that have been measured reliably and proven many times - 180kwatw.

That is best case scenario with all the bolt ons + full E85 (as measured on a manual, take off about 20kw for an auto) and a considerable amount of $$. Yes, it's a pretty nice daily driver.

That is also the same peak that a bone stock GT gets with a TBE and maybe an cheap TMIC. 180kw on a manual, take off 20kw for the 5eat. Add a fuel pump, headers and E85? Suddenly you're well into 200kwatw+ territory with more torque and power everywhere (except maybe under 2000rpm! :) ) over a similarly modded H6. And it really shows up even on the bum dyno. Funny enough, Matt has quoted his customers 230kwatw on that setup. And then there was one bloke here who made 270kw at the rear (let's allow 10% extra power, so 230-240kw otherwise at all 4) on that setup. Oh and he was on 98. See how dyno figures also don't really solve anything and just create arguments?

If you guys really want to brag about how much power and torque you're making - post up some 1/4 slips. No one can argue with those (and are a lot more exciting to talk about than your crank numbers).

Check out Kiahatsiu's challenge thread. Lots of H6 owners had a go on the 1/4mile. Turns out - all of these "WRX beating" E85 H6s ran the same 1/4 as a stock WRX or worse.

TL:DR version: Enough shit talk, post up some slips. :air_kiss:

Thought I'd post up a few slips to show my experiences with drag racing my Pre-Facelift 3.0RB 6MT Wagon.

First ever time at the drags

This was with headers, exhaust and 98 tune from XRT.

Fast forward 6months and I moved on to a kido e85 tune which got my my quickest time in N/A form

14.2

And cracked the 100mph

Image

Then time for some boost(raptor supercharger)which leaves me with my quickest time to date.

12.8 @105mph

Hey Cliff,

Do you happen to have any dyno sheets before the car was supercharged? with or without e85?

Good stuff Cliffo,

I'm going the exact same route that you went, E85 n/a tune soon with Matt. He uploaded a base tune the other day, soon we'll do the corn juice tune. Then I'll whack the s/c on when the wallet is ready. I just want to ask for some clarification, the dyno sheet you just posted says 98 fuel. Was that reading definitely on 98? And if so, what is your power atw on E85?
Thanks man.

No, that reading was on E85. The operator just forgot to add the correct details.

You are lucky that you can get the flex tune as both the e85 stations are on the lower part of the central coast.

All that extra torque must have come from the fact that you have a supercharged H8 engine.
What did the extra 2 cylinder mod cost you?
