I can testify to these times. I'm only running 10psi in an effort to save the engine to reduce the work I'll have when I properly build it one day. So I'm putting out little less torque than Mark. Despite this, using GPS verification and OBDII monitoring and Tag Heuer timing instruments we've managed 0-100Km/H with lazy gear shifts in 4.4 seconds but with some very merciless gear shifting/launching we managed 3.7seconds a couple of times. And that was in 38degree ambient heat in Februaury, without weight saving measures.
It now feels tangibly much more powerful in moist winter mornings on dry tarmac, but, I like my gearbox and so can't be bothered to check the times again. But, I'm pretty damn sure they'll be quicker, certainly reliably around 4.0seconds. :big_boss: :vensent:

Probably a bit off topic, but:
Correct me if I am wrong, but I think a lot of our cars 6 speed manuals work against us having quick 0-100 or 1/4 mile times.
I recall back in my Auburn Macca's days :P , that the quick cars were generally the ones with the 2 speed Powerglides and such.
Less gear changes = better for quick 1/4 mile times.

My best time thus far was 5.96 sec (timed with my ECUDatascan) after the addition of the SC kit from Raptor. But that was with an auto box that was slipping (confirmed on dyno). So car is in getting a full auto trans rebuild and will see in a couple of months what the true times are.

Good luck with the auto Mark. Interested to see how it all goes.

If I were you, I would modify my valve body first. The clutch packs will get worn sooner or latter during WOT shifting with a SC kit.

IPT's reputation dropped down because of the minor work they do vs the cost they take. TransGo seems to be developing their 5EAT kits and I would be glad to modify mine by them.

Thanks for the tips Ali,

Valve Body was done almost 12 months ago, about a month after the sc kit went on and then got another tune. After driving around in lots of varied conditions, I am not happy with the valve body timing as the shift points are too late in 1st and 2nd under WOT and on partial throttle sometime changes too quick through 2nd to 3rd.

Anyway, the slip on a dyno day last year convinced me that the clutch packs were nearing the end of life, so I decided to have all the work done in one hit and some finer adjustments to the valve body.

I will google transgo to see what they are offering, but I am locked in with my transmission guy, Kewish Automotive, as he does a lot of the Jatco boxes and was very familiar with the J507E from our Subaru's. The same base box is used in a lot of Japanese brands, predominantly Nissans (Skyline, Z, R, etc).

Oh, good work..

There is a guy called ClimberD@HexMods at LegacyGT (check Transmission section) who has proven his ability to modify 05-07 VB away better than IPT. If I were you I would contact him to get mine modified. 07-09 VB (JDM), which are different, mod is still in progress, with ClimberD and I believe TransGo too.

Your issue becomes with the clutch packs (life) more than it is with the VB at high boost. If I decided to go high hp/tq I wouldn't shift while WOT but rather would treat the transsy as a manual.

Good luck and let's hear the good news :)

Thats a really good time for a stock vehicle. Elsewhere on this forum I've posted that we recently managed 12.2 seconds and a 188Km/H. Prolly capable of an 11second time which proved illusive with repeatedly poor launches as we were running semi slicks which always managed to bog the car down on 1st gear launch.
