popped into performance exhausts in ringwood yesterday.
they had a look at the 06 and we talked about running a full custom exhaust, custom headers the works.
they recommended that the cost / performance for the headers wasnt worth it, and the oem headers were pretty good, good size and well made.
they did however suggest running a true dual system from, replacing the 1st cats with some sports cats, then running a 2inch dual system all the way back to a nice set of mufflers. they said that there is room beside the fuel tank to run the true dual system all the way back. they said it should run well performance wize, just a little concerned about the noise.
for the sports cats, 2inch mild steel split exhaust and ss mufflers with my choice of tips approx 1500 fitted.

they did say i would have to get the car programed to ignore the o2 warning that will inevitably show up with the cats replaced....west minst is hooking me up with a custom tune, so all good there

hey guys, i didn't end up getting a quote from hitech (though the rough quote on the phone was $2k+ due to using quality stuff... blah blah blah) as i ran my car up the back of a taxi in traffic (thongs + driving = BAD!)

thanks for the comments on how the car sounds, that exhaust is:

custom tuned length extractors (31" primaries, they're LOOOOOONG)
high flow cat (cheapo chinese branded one)
3" press bent pipe
2.5" varex muffler

and yes, it's god damn loud!

while the car is being fixed i'm having a 3" resonator and a 3" varex cannon welded on...

i know you guys are probably thinking that 3" is huge, but honda boys run 3" pipe on K20's (2.0 liter 4 cylinder) and end up with crazy numbers at the wheels, so i guess it's all about top end power rather than mid-range torque (which suits me fine!)
