The most highly ported stupid (stock castig) subaru heads flow significantly less than stock 3.0heads. Food /horsepower for thought.

Not all heads are created equal ;)

But agree the 3.0 heads outflow almost all other Subaru heads even those that have had work done them

Nah, i can see the inlet pipe running to the turbo entry in the pics
but where's the compressor outlet routed? down-under?

I've been in the car with the header's previous owner with them installed and can attest that this combo will certainly makes you poo your pants just a little.

Is it a bad thing I'm now trawling carsales for a 3 litre spec b

Yeah the hot side is pretty short. It goes straight out the big airbox hole and into the cooler that has the tank outlets just under the headlight.
It all fits really well. The oil drain from the turbo goes into the top of the RH cam cover so there was no need to mess around with the sump(which is very inaccessible).

Car came back down for some brake work yesterday. Running like a clock still. Gets 12l/100 on highway and 16l/100 in town/being thrashed. That's E85.

Plan next is to stick an STI HD clutch in it and, with Coyote's permission, implement some boost control and creep in some more boost. Also do a complete 98 tune now that header issue is sorted. I am curious as to how other turbo H6's have made very high numbers while retaining the stock headers.

Haven't had people bashing the door down wanting turbos on their H6's yet.

Your query about power on stock headers is very valid - they dont even do the job on the motor NA

What do you mean by sorted the headers out? Have you got a picture? This build thread is awesome!

There is a picture of the headers in the first post, these are their new headers which replace the stock header

Loving it.

I'm wondering if there is a 'budget' turbo H6 version... haha

I'm sure Al could supply with hardware to suit a standard flanged turbo. and you supply your own TD06.

Probably wouldn't be that much cheaper though
