im at 14L/100 its gone up too high agian MATT!!!!!! LOL
i will be seeing u on your next sydney visit! can you tell me why my fuel is going up and down up and down
and i can barely get 450km MAX out of a tank

Every time for the last 3 visits to Sydney I have had, you have been unavailable... left your phone in the office etc.
Is your trip meter Km/L or L/Km out of interest? Because I had one owner who thought 14Km/L was bad...

Do these things run that rich under load you call pull that much fuel out without melting the engine?

They run super lean from idle to 3200rpm, which kills low rpm torque
Throttle angle change is so big constantly that they throw in fuel with throttle tip(EFI version of accelerator pump)

Smoothing out the values gives a half decent fuel economy increase ;) The rest is smoothing timing and fueling

I see.

So you fatten the low end but cut back on tip in?

Smooth throttle tables, still got the same pulse but the smoother tables mean less wasted fuel. Stock goes from 40% to 90% in a cliff like delivery.

after hearing ppl with the same h6 getting 550- 650 km WTF LOL!
but mind you i do no highway driving! more city driving with the occasional WOT WOT!

Tell me about it. Two relatively in tune cars with no mechanical issues shouldn't differ by 200+ km a tank. I don't believe that tuning can make that much difference, plus mine is properly tuned (150+kw at the wheels). Very, very odd.

Illuzn got dyno tuned in Adelaide elsewhere(IAM on 0 with FLKC still pulling timing) so feel free to ask him what his fuel economy and power improvement is like after my tune :)

You'll have to translate that for me. Mine was dyno tuned at S&J who AFAIK have an excellent reputation here and elsewhere. Picked up 10-20kw across the range, economy is better than it was but still very poor.

When I first got my Lib (stock tune afiak), it's fuel consumption was 13l/100 from the old owner!

After babying it around for a week I was getting around 11.2l/100. I found this pretty sucky economy compared to a number of people posting here.
After pushing it on a hills run, the economy went down to 10.8l/100 which made me go wtf :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
Now after driving it normally for half a week (having a little bit of fun, but no WOT or anything) my fuel consumption is less than it used to be babying it around!
Will update after another week or two of the same driving. Can't wait to get a tune in a couple of months and see the numbers drop further :D

Yeah mine does that. Economy is always better if your average speed is higher. It's good

We've now got Ethanol blend 100 Octane in Perth.

I've tried it once and it seems to work well but not sure of any long term affects.

Does anyone know whether this stuff is OK long term. I'd be interested in tuning options and economy because with ethanol in it it's reasonably priced.

bro you need to tune your car on the e100 you use more fuel when using ethanol so the car needs more fuel to have the right air fuel mixtures, stick to 98 or tune to e100

Got it. Without a tune it'll run too lean and start burning valves etc. I usually run a mix of 95 and 98, ie. when i can't get 98 but need fuel i'll put half a tank of 95 in and top it with 98 later. I used 91 once and it sounded like I had a bucket of marbles rattling in the engine bay up hills so kept it in lower gears. Nasty stuff...

Ummmmmm,
Check the response.

I suspect your car will be fine without tuning

I ran United P100 in my car for some time while I was living in Mexico.

The car was fine, no problems at all. It felt just that little bit punchier too going around town

makes no difference it will causes different fuel mixtures. it may be fine but why risk damaging your engine?

With P100 there is a slight lean out which from memory is in the 0.3 AFR range.

Whilst negligible for the H6 I think the H4 is more at risk due to the fuel rail design from stock which can induce a cylinder 3 lean condition in the order or 0.8 AFRs combined. This is where GB may be getting his info/experience from.

Most tuners would possibly change the injector scaling to compensate for this.

The tune improvements are in the realm of 1 or 2 degrees more timing if that, due the safety of the ethanol additive.

You're pretty safe running P100 in a H6 without a tune, on a H4 possibly as well, but it's a little more risky.

All this info is only relevant for open loop fuelling as in closed loop the ECU is well within it's limits to manage the correction to reach stoich.
