I use only Vpower or BP Ultimate Nick. VPower runs only the slightest bit better. wouldnt try 91 as it was sluggish as in mine and 95 is not much better.

I've never put 91 in mine, but have tried most of the 95's, 98's, and Shell E10 (which is 94).
To be honest, I don't notice much difference between them at all.

I put Ultimate in mine the previous week (cheapest I'd seen that day). Noticed last week that it seemed to be running a bit smoother and such. Originally thought I must have been driving it smoother/better. Could have been the fuel though...

I have a B spec 3.0r and I travel about 100k each way daily. I can average about 12 k per Litre if I stick to the speed limit however in the back blocks where I am I give it a bit and generally run at about 10.5 to 11. The computer is accurate and the amount of fuel at fill up corresponds exactly to usage.

If you put regular in you will pay a heavy price. Performance is lower, fuel consumption is higher. Works out cheaper to use premium. I reckon there is 5% difference in the consumption.

i disagree here. regarding paying a heavy price. performance feels the same and fuel consumption is the same. this is for my car. and all i have done is mufflers changed to hot dog. and twin quad tips and DBW changed.

only time i noticed performance issue regarding fuel was in my 2006 wrx cause it was worked with 190kw atw it was then noticeable with lower grade fuel.

2006 MY07 manual wagon
113,000kms
HW = 8.6 (in the last week i have down - Brisbane>Canberra, Canberra>Sydney>Canberra and Canberra>Taree>Canberra. Each trip reset the odometer to reset the average fuel consumption and it stays @ 8.6)
City = 10.8 - 13 depending on traffic and my right foot

I have tried various brands, 95 and 98. 98 does not improve the fuel economy at all for me but the engine runs noticeably smoother.

2005 MY06 Manual Wagon
95,000kms
City = 14 if I'm lucky, I drive to work each day which is only 5 minutes away, and it really sucks the petrol when not fully up to operating temperature, and I tend to drive it like I stole it.
HW = 8.2 (only highway driving I've done so far is from Bankstown to Lithgow and back over the weekend, and 6th gear seems to come into its own on freeways. Very happy with 8.2 up over Blue Mountains and back)

I always use 98 petrol

MY06 3RB Manual
Fuel: BP Ultimate Only
Total combined fuel usage since i've owned it
11.0L/100km

City Only: 11.8L/100km
Hwy Only: 8.6L/100km

And on the last RSLC cruise we did about 360km through the tassie countryside, flogging it all day....
9.2L/100km

All these are measured by the on-board fuel consumption meter, and it's consistently wrong by about 0.4L/100km
the car uses more fuel than the meter shows
