Does anyone have a legit reason for turning your car off while washing it? Aside from wasting fuel....

Wasting fuel is a decent one. Last time I washed my car it took 2.5 hours.

My question is is there a legit reason to want to leave it on?

Unless you really want tunes from the car and like my car currently, leaving the stereo on for 15 mins will flatten your battery.
