Thanks guys,

I just like the look, but i like the idea of the outback bonnet.

Cold air intake is next step, didnt think it would work from the hole in the bonnet 8) but after driving through a tunnel with the windows down, the lack of sound has sent my interests to the back end of the car.....

I asked about the wagon cause i saw one on ebay.

On the outback, im guessing the years would mach up so far as finding a perfect fit?

Appreciate all the input guys, love this forum :D :D :D

I've done this mod but only because I wanted more cooling air flow for the two roasting TD04s and their respective plumbing, tucked behind the engine - it works very well for this purpose. I think it also looks quite good on my car but each to their own - I've seen stock 3.0rbs on the road and have thought to myself a scoop would only ruin the car's identity - but thats just me.
As far as a cold air intake - the best airflow is under the headlight. Both intakes for my turbos are located above and backwards from the fogs (both of which I recessed slightly for even better airflow). I know of people who have done away with the fogs purely for this purpose. This is a controversial issue and don't want to spark off an unnecessary shit fight over it - just saying this is what I've done based on my own research, testing and experience.

Cheers.

i wanted to setup with a gt bonnet aswell, with a custom intake at the top like this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=gkfC2k0AZPQ which netted a further 35hp, apparently.
only thing is though, that the gt bonnet scoop isnt big enough to trap the flow of air over the bonnet like the WRX one here so it would be near useless. gt bonnet is therefore only good for an extra flow of air over the engine or even to cool turbo's and the harness like Jeremy with his TTH6.

You can make the 3.0 boosted so it all seems legit :D

This idea for a 3.0 is actually a prime scheme, the 3.0 can do with a little cooling air directed over the plenum anytime, NA or boosted will see a power improvement
