Good job mate :) and have you checked the logs yourself to see it theyre clean?

As for matt only tuning well for advertising. ...I have to disagree. Matt's a very helpful guy and appears to me to do his best everytime. It's the fact that I while I was having problems I never knew when matt was going to get back to me. Same day, two days later or forget about me completely. Compared to my current tuner's avg response time of 1hr to 2hrs tops, with updated tune revisions done in that time, much more realistic and correct explanations and diagnosis (no blaming canberrian altitude, or humidity etc) and altogether less mistakes and no constant boost spikes - I couldn't stick with matt even if I tried! Matt is a nice bloke and an ok tuner (a good tuner who is too busy to support his customers properly = not a v good tuner in my books), BUT eric from torqued performance is a legend and a machine :) ask anyone.

My free retune for life policy is the time killer. Last year, I retuned 107 cars who had new turbos/exhausts/intercoolers/E85 swaps etc and one of those cars was from 1999...

Canberra altitude as listed before is a problem ;) Boost cut on the Forester is more advanced than the one in your ECU ;) You have a 2D table, Forester has a 3D table with boost cut changeable at different RPM so at 4800rpm and again at 5600rpm, boost cut activation dropped low enough to set it off.

Maybe the free tune thing is a bad idea

Wow a lot of very technical information! Matt tuned my H6 last week and I am happy with it. I am a pastry chef so absolutely no idea about the mechanics, could not even tell if the car has better fuel economy as Matt stated when we tuned the car. The car defiantly drives much smoother through the gears, idle is so quiet and launch is noticeable. Power through to 3rd speed (cannot get it into 4th with out potentially losing my licence) is noticeably faster and cleaner (crisp) when under max acceleration. There is some pinging but if I don't put the peddle to the floor it is not notable and seems to get to the same speed/acceleration with great response from 3000rpm where before was sluggish then bang at 4500rpm like a power band.

I got what I asked for and hope Matt keeps his word of tweaking the tune when I instal raptor headers later in the year. As far as driving enjoyment my 2005 H6 is transformed /improved and i feel it was money well spent. I was influenced by this forum to use Matt but would also recommend this to other H6 owners.

This pedal to the floor or atleast partial pedal to the floor is the transfer point from fuel economy mode to power mode and is the noise generator. The pinging was definitely louder on the factory tune as you mentioned though!

What exactly is pinging....?

I've been told by a few people now that the H6 stock tune does not have it. Something doesn't match up here?

There must be a exception to the amount of ping you can have now these days....
