Great write-up. What a project. Best wishes for getting it back in the car and all the other work left in this.

The eagle has landed in the vehicle :)
The motor's in, and I've been making up the last of the fuel/water/oil lines I need to do now that I have an engine in there to make lengths correct etc.

It looks pretty much complete when I stick the cooler pipes on now.

Basically all that's left is a couple coolant hoses - needed that one AN hose-end I didn't have and a little bit more hose, and a vacuum hose from blowoff valve to manifold, and to stick a little drain hose down into the wheel arch for the air oil separator (it can be returned to the engine and I have a provision for that, but I want to run it without first and see what the caught oil/etc. looks like draining it over a period of time).

I made some nicer heat shields between exhaust manifolds and steering rack boots (new VA STi quick-ratio rack BTW), and re-made the bottom joint of the dump pipe so it fit better, using a v-band.

Then I can put all the heat protections bits like the turbo beanie and wrap the dump pipe etc. and get it on for the final time, and fit up all the wastegate stuff.

I have alot of interior to put back together but that doesn't stop the engine from start-up for the meantime.

Bit of a gap in posts, I'll fill that in later.

Here is the first start-up video however: https://www.instagram.com/p/Cql45ZkyRLC ... BiNWFlZA==

The engine now has about 1,400km on it and car has now made it to the dyno.

So far it's made 330kW on a nice low ignition timing rip, at 15psi (gate pressure) on 98oct :)

Ethanol and boost time soon.

Sounds really good in that video.

Very stout early/conservative dyno numbers too.

First I had a video open with no sound. I didn't understand what sound you were talking about. All I saw was a picture (a little bit of exhaust from behind). Then I saw that the sound was switched off in Instagram. That was funny :D
