Just wondering if all the cracked ones are the pre-facelift models?
If so, they have a white perforated baffle in them (which can be removed if you break it up/twist it around etc - not sure what it's actually supposed to do and don't really care).
The post-facelift do not have this baffle.

My Pre Face lift Intake chamber does not have the white insert and is also crack free But haven't used it for a while due to S/C

I have a spare intake chamber I bought from a wrecked Post face lift which has the white insert and the intake chamber is slightly cracked ..

FYI: Correct terminology is actually a surge tank... this box is designed to give the engine a reservoir to supply air from under high demand situations, ie going from light throttle to full throttle, engine will quickly consume the air in the tank while giving a slow rising load value to the MAF Also means on throttle back off, you do not get airflow reversion since the EZ30 motor is capable of more than 100% volumetric efficiency, this tank is important to keep.

ive glued other cars surge tank as matt said using q bond ha ha never seen it on a Subaru like that before

If I find kine is cracked what would be best to fix it with? Araldite or 2 part bonding glue? Or would plastic welding be the best fix?

Super glue, Sikaflex 227 or even a soldering iron to melt the crack have been used with success

Drill a tiny hole at the end of the crack to stop it from cracking further. Clean up any debris in there and seal it up with your favourite glue.

Just be mindful peoples that any shavings or dags from inflexible or incompatible glues have got a free pass to your precious cylinder bores. I took mine to a plastic welder who specializes in bumper repairs. Many plastics are incompatible with certain glues etc. Don't stuff around with that area of your engine..
