But everything is still grounded through with the battery no? Isn't that the whole reasoning behind ground kits? Or lets say the strain on the alternator is so strong trying to pump up this battery that its just not enough for everything else...kinda like when you have an amp and subwoofers. People install larger rated alternators or caps. Not saying you are wrong, but I want to get a full understanding on this.

off topic...I think I have a front cv going out as well...clunk clunk. DAMMIT!

shopping list:
battery
cv
canbus capable cable
tune.

A battery with a dead cell can cause a total drop across the system if the alternator does not have the capacity to keep up with the load.
but unless that is the case the voltage regulator should be able to maintain 14.2-14.4 volts at all times.

ALthough my Auto legacy suffered bad shifts with an old battery even though the alternator was doing it's job.
New battery and it was fine again

Something is definitely screwy. Went to take the misses to work this morning and the right side of my sound system was out. After a few minutes of driving (charging I'm assuming) all was well again.

sounds more like a bigger electrical issue.
has the car been flooded before..?
does it leak water in the cabin anywhere (sunroof drains..?)

I don't know of and there are no signs of it ever being "flooded". The speaker issue is something that I've only noticed as of yesterday morning. I'm yet to try it today.
As well when I first got it, it would crank normal (fast) and start right up. Now it cranks longer and slower like that battery is about to die. I'm waiting for the morning that I hit start and I just get clicks. I have not seen any leaks. The sunroof and and windows appear to be as tight as good girlfriend. However with as often as it rains here, I HAVE been through very large puddles or even in standing water up to the door sills. Nothing I would think would be soaked into any harness. This morning I'm going to do a volt check on the battery before the first start and then again after I drive for a little bit. Then check to see if I have audio in all the speakers.

I've always loved my Subarus despite any gremlins they have but I just don't have the money right now to be chasing anything on this one. :(

Didn't get the volt test as my multimeter was dead.....seriously.

So I proceeded to hit the start button...fired over strong... The car was sitting overnight at a slant. The battery was VERY low on electrolyte. The speakers worked just fine (as did starting it).

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

If it is an bigger electrical issue, what would it be? The cables are tight. I guess I could check all the harness and fuse box for something loose.
(My friend has a 92 2.2 legacy where the entire harness to the fuse box was barely connected. Didn't have any problems for darn near a year)

Top up low battery level and it should improve things.

That said, grab some logs of the ECU in RomRaider and happy to take a look
