My MY06 3.0RB Future ?

Hi Guys,
Noobie question regarding the future of my MY06 MT 3.0RB Wagon.
It's done a lot of kays (200k) and I have owned it since new. It has been a great car and doesn't owe me anything, BUT I'm not sure on it's future.
I have recently given it a suspension update (Coilovers to replace the shagged billies, rear sway bar and LCA, rear CA bushes) which has re-invigorated the handling and made me think there is a future.

I am considering a mild tune to re-discover the beast within and to complete the birthday. BUT am nervous re some of the issues discussed on the forums (new poster, long time lurker !)

I have 3 options as I see it:
1. Upgarde the car, complete the birthday and enjoy for another 3 years (My 22 year old son will be devastated, he's looking to inherit !)
2. Pass on the inheritance and buy a new car (don't like the current lib, What to buy ?)
3. Pass on the inheritance and buy a lower km facelift lib 3.0rb or blown version.

Thoughts ?
