Flashing cruise control light

Hey guys! I'm new here.
I bought a MY06 manual spec b this week! Currently in love with it and drives like a dream - but on the way to work today, my car's cruise control light started flashing by itself after taking off from the lights.
Cruise control was disabled, but once I got to work and started the car up again it disappeared.

Does anyone know what this is?? Thanks guys.

Does your sunroof still work ? . Mine blewa fuse for the sunroof and did the same .
Also if you bump the cruise lever while turning the car on can do the same thing

I had CEL + Cruise on the weekend
Was following an excursion through a slippery paddock.
ECU freaked out when only one wheel was spinning while the car was stationary, threw a Wheel speed sensor code.
Cleared it, all fine now.

Could be a number of reasons. You can pull/read the code yourself if you have a tactrix cable and or scan tool. If not then take to a dealer or a forum member close to you, so they can plug in and read the fault code. Could be an easy fix as above posters or could be a serious fault.

Thanks for the responses guys, no fuses seem to be blown, and at the time I had quickly disengaged and reengaged the clutch while taking off because of the driver in front of me braking for no apparent reason, the ECU might have just been a little confused.

If it happens again though, I'll probably invest in an obd scanner just in case.

Update:
This happened to me on the way home from work, around the 30 minute mark of the trip. Happened right after I gave it a little more gas than usual and letting the clutch in (still getting used to the throttle lag) and it started blinking again.
Pulled over and turned the car off and on again, nope still there.
Got home, turned the car off, waited 10 seconds and turned it on again. Gone.

This seems pretty weird, might pop over to repco now and see if they'll let me borrow a scanner and see if anything comes up. If not I'll just find another forum member near me

Quickly created an account here when I was looking into a lib, and couldn't be bothered making a new one once I had actually bought one.

Could the flashing of just the cruise control light be a temporary error? I drove around 100km today, and at the 90km mark it started flashing again.
I know I need new brake pads and that the brake fluid is low, and the power steering fluid is really really low. Going to add to or flush the power steering tomorrow and see if that fixes it up, as well as borrow my mate's obd scanner.

Fix up all the maintenance issues that you mentioned - makes the car a bit safer maybe

Make sure engine oil is very clean and filled to correct level

Then get yourself a custom tune, probably the 02 sensor code based on my experience

Turns out my brake light fuse had blown - replaced it and the cruise control light isn't causing me any more problems
