I went through the logbooks before i bought my R-B and noticed the previous owner had fitted and i quote "STI Heavy Duty Clutch" at Subaru Docklands in Melb, I'm assuming thats why my clutch is so heavy,
how heavy are the normal clutches on an R-B?? Ive only ever launched it hard a couple times in wet weather and it takes off well,
nothing better then getting all 4 wheels spinning, but its only happened once on a very wet/muddy road,

anyway does anyone have any experience with this clutch? i don't have any stock numbers as it was just jotted in the logbook, it was replaced about 15,000kms ago.. how much life can i expect? i know its all variable depending on how its used, but i am wary of being gentle..

cheers

the stock clutches are pretty damn heavy

If anything i found the STi ones lighter and nicer to use than the stock unit.
you should expect 100,000km+ out of it

I've only done it a couple of times in my car, I found the best way so far is to not hold the revs but to dump the clutch as the revs climb, probably about 4-5,000rpm although it's hard to tell exactly when. Managed to get all 4 wheels to slip, then grip, then REALLY take off :D

I will never dump clutch in my car, bad practice. I dislike broken and worn mechanical stuff, dumping wears components much faster and will eventually lead to broken parts.

If you have plenty $$$$ then give it hell
