air track

is it better to hav a straight pipe air track
or to hav the stock air track :/

i heard something about u get vacuum or somthing with the stock air track :/

Excuse my ignorance, but what do you mean by "air track"? This term is new for me.

The path/pipework the air travels through on its way into (and out of) the engine.

In an N/A you are always going to have a slight vacuum - that's how the engine gets the air in!

You need vacuum for the sesnsors to work and the breather pipes to work. without that vacuum the breather pipes become useless.

The air boxes are to quieten it down, If you like induction noise get straight piping and a pod filter.

The large air chamber that sits at the rear of the engine just before the throttle body and inlet manifold does serve a purpose. I am not sure precisely what it does, but I do recall that on this forum, someone has run some performance test with straight intake pipes (plus a bend to get it into the throttle body) and the results were discouraging. Better performance with the original chamber. Better noise without it! That is all I recall. Search is your friend.

I think that was a claim about how the box stores a lot of air for 'on tap' usage? Wether or not that's true I don't know but I think that is the post you are referring to.
Also I think heat was a problem because he went with stainless steel piping.

I've read the article you refer to and it's been substantiated via fluid dynamic theory. Subaru do not approve of its removal either. The box is needed for better instantaneous response as it provides a stored source of air.

It's all about boost and dirt catching through the bottom black hoses. If the Kakimoto Chamber was designed to fit in our KSA delivered legacy I would have installed it already

Curve piping are better than straight ones, more air = more boost..
