Clutch fluid should be changed every 12months, as should brake fluid. its a hydroscopic fluid (absorbs moisture) and therefore it needs regular changing.

I can assure you she doesnt. Although as yet I havent been able to replicate this condition myself - lets see. Its all economy style driving which makes it more weird
