What I would be doing with your pipe is to wrap it with Heat reflective Thermal Tape (DEI Cool tape).
I would not use the exhaust wrap that Brad used on his. The difference is that the exhaust wrap keeps the heat in and the Thermal reflective tape prevents heatsoak.
After my limited time with the Raptor s/c. Gino and I experimented with the DEi cool tape and found that it was very effective in reducing heat soak.

Yup thats the name of the company. Where can I get some of this tape, cause that pipe gets very hot even when I am not lead footed.

Try Ebay or aftermarket autoparts store in your location..

Yeah, HKS sells a kit for the 3RB, but I got the pipe from importmonster and was using an Apexi panel filter.

I've got one made by PHAT himself for a 2.5i which I got second hand off of him. Interested? It's the same sorta thing, but painted matt black. I'll get a photo of it asap.

Anyone taken the time to measure the restriction of the stock filter element using a water gauge?

Most of what I have seen on the thread so far is unlikely to make any real difference performance wise. The stock plastic is same diameter and being plastic doesnt retain heat as long as any of the metals.

If I was checking for gains on this type of mod I would water gauge the air filter element for restriction and take it from there. Its not the biggest element so potentially 95% of the gains may be found by changing to a freer flowing element or LARGE pod filter
