when i first got my car i took it there a few times to get CEL codes cleared, they did it very quick and free of charge and always nice about it, never had any mech work done with them though.

Mentone are good - I believe Jeremy is still running service there, and he knows the product very well...

I don't use Subaru for major services, due to the cost - all mine are done by Ross Fraser at Cromwood Autos in Burwood ... loan car for free, and for example, the 100,000 km on the Forester XT was $1400 at Subaru pricing, Ross did it for $950 WRX Club pricing using all genuine parts...

Drew, as I have already been to Ross once for my lower control arm bushes, do you think I would also be privvy to this loan car for free and good prices (albeit not as good as yours of course...although I do plan to join the wrx club to get CAMS)

Hi Kieran,

just ask him if you can have one of his loan cars when you book it in - they are nothing spectacular, but they are reliable. I think he has a Festiva and a Camry wagon for memory.

WRX Membership is $100 to join the club, and $90 for each subsequent year, and discounts through our sponsors is normally 10% on parts and labour at quite a few of our sponsors, including Ross and Subaru Melbourne, and I hear that the membership guy is a top bloke

We send 5 cars to Ross now, plus quite a few references, and he did his apprenticeship with Officer & Smith in North Melbourne, where we used to take our Peugeot's when I was younger, so we've known him for years...
