Hi all,
i am looking at putting un even length headers on my 2007 Liberty 2.5i as i want the wrx note. Has anyone on here done this to their NA liberty?
i have been doing some research and i havnt been able to find headers that are specifically for the liberty.
Would anyone recomend any exhaust shops in Melbourne (Greensborough) area that would be able to help me out?

Heres a borla replica that i have found for a resonable price on ebay but i am not sure if it will fit the car

Any help would be appreciated
Josh

I was looking at the GT spec replica version, apparently they are a bit hit and miss, but for the cost of it, its markedly cheaper than the genuine headers which at $1k+

Be prepared to weld up any leaks if you get a bad copy, but apparently most copies are pretty good. Also get yourself a set of grimmspeed gaskets, as these are thick gaskets that will assist in preventing any uneven flange mounts, which are common with copies, so you take some risk with these, buyer beware.

Having said that, go for it!

I know an excellent mechanic who i personally use, he is a master with a jig and welder, and can custom build headers for you, at a reasonable price too! Pm me if you want the details, though he is in Dandenong.

As long as you're aware that you will get less power...

i can tell u definitively that they will not bolt up

i bought a pair once for the 2.5i, then sold them cos no fit

AND, these headers are going the other way then what's currently on the car.

this is what the 2.5i looks like...

I have spoken to the Phat GT about this topic
He said it is a custom header job which he has done before
if you do the custom headers and change to cannon exausht you should be able to find a rubble
or do as shane said
buy a wrx lol...

Yeh i was on a cruise last week and there was a 98 wrx that sounded soo loud number plates "BUKLUP" and at the lights I asked him how do I get mine sounding like that? His reply was "have you got a turbo...?" I then hung my head in shame and wished I wasn't a P-Plater!!!

LOL! Everyone's time will come. Just be patient and you'll get to a point where you can get a turbo. :D

Glenroy exhausts in campbellfield will be able to fabricate some headers that will fit, at a reasonable price.

heyy, will these fit an 04-06?? in the US only the 06+ models couldnt bolt on, due to the equal length headers, or do they not fit all lib 2.5i's in AUS, i was looking into getting a set, thanks

hey, i had un-even headers custom made on my 02 liberty, sounded great when i was slowing down just like the rex,
but i always got the raspy sound when i accelerated and didn't sound as good, personally i won't go them again unless
i had a turbo, the sound from my exhaust from the cat back had a nice deep sporty sound as well so i'd suggest going that
unless you get a turbo.
