Postby aaron.blake » Tue Apr 13, 2010 9:27 pm

looking to put a bigger intake and throttle body on my libs and going to replace the whole intake so
i was wondering about if there was a legal way to hook up a catch can to bypass the blow back hoses in the
stock intake? ive been told there is but not sure was wondering if someone on here knows? and if someone has
directions on how to do it?

any info would be helpful

Oil catch cans are perfectly legal as long as they don't vent to atmosphere.

Anything non oem added to a vehicle after it leaves the factory is illegal…no matter what it is…. ADR states this clearly.

That’s why all TB sti's come with secondary compliance plate in the spare wheel well to state the parts fitted locally still adhere to the ADR rules…..

In my view the ADRs define specs for everything on a car, if something is retrofitted but complies with ADR specs then there should be no problem. Otherwise probably close to 90% of the cars on the road have illegal mods, everything from hubcaps to oil catch cans.
