I'm skeptical. The 2.5i intake is surprisingly efficient and more than adequate unless you are doing big power mods. Wouldn't the metal piping attract heat and heat up the incoming air anyway? (Same as our manifolds compared to the H6 and GT's)

Just wrap the stock intake with foil.

I'm slighty confused...is there some kind of pod filter on the end instead?!
and the idea is, its at the bottom, away from the heat?!

constant radius all the way through...yea yea, fair enough

but how does it exactly help realistically?!

The stock box and filter is quite efficient and well engineered, I have real doubts about gaining any increased power by using it. To be quite honest the Hyperflow CAI I had installed on my car did not give me any additional power when dyno tuned.

i refuse to do any sort of mod to the engine, unless its free or cheap. not worth trying to get any more power out of these N/A's. unless you spend big money on stroking, cams, or boost

... and if we ever have extreme wet weather like that weekend a month ago where the roads were flooded - you aren't driving anywhere with a long ram intake :P
