200k Service

Postby anderman » Fri Apr 02, 2010 6:39 pm

Hey guys.
Im due for a 200,000km service on my Gen 3 Lib manual Wagon and I'm thinking of doing most of it myself.
Just wondering if theres much besides the obvious that i should check/change.
-Engine Oil
-Diff/gearbox Oils
-Engine Oil filter
-spark plugs.

Is there anything else there that I've missed?
Also what oils would you guys reccomend for a Gen 3 Liberty at 200,000kms (The gearbox was rebuilt 40,000km ago)
Any suggestions on what sparkplugs to get/not to get?

I have a receipt from the previous owner saying the timing belt was changed at 160,000km so Im thinking mine doesnt need changing yet?

Cheers for any help/suggestions!

Drain and flush your cooling system then replace the coolant. Flush the brake system with new fluid then bleed and refill. You'll also want to inspect all your suspension bushes, brake pads, universal joints, ball joints. The fluids you can do yourself but I'd get a mechanic to check it over after. At least it won't cost you the $1000+ for a full service.
