Liberty Turbo Guide and feedback

Postby scary » Wed Jun 03, 2009 11:37 am

Trying to form a bit of a database for Turbo upgrade options for the Liberty all in the one place.

Post in your options for what model and feedback if you have any.

The aim is to find all the different options out there for upgrades.

So far for the 2.5 I know of

AVO 380
AVO 400
VF52

There has to be some more options out there.

Twin scroll set ups that are bolt on.

Make a note if they will fit up to the top mount etc.

lets get some feedback and some expected output.

Personally I am looking for a new snail that will enable 220-250kw bolt on for MY08 2.5

Lets get some options out there for all models and engines

Good idea Shano! Twin Scroll set up does appeal to me but to my knowledge their is no staight bolt on options for us.

VF46 is not a bolt on and would require a sti manifold, dump pipe etc..would get you to 200kw but really not much more than that. This was the stock turbo on MY06/07 WRX STI's.

This would be very costly i dare say.
I mean, even if there is a bolt on set-up, the additional mods that need to be done, would outweight the cost of a Factory designed Liberty Turbo...

Bigger fuel pump & rerouting of fuel lines to accommodate boost. Would need to be considered , upgrading of brakes and suspension, an appropriate intercooler. Change of gaskets, Possible beefing up of the gearbox

And the Resale will be... hmm no good.

Thats my 2 cents.

Sorry, I'm a bit confused..

Scary, do you have a 2.5T or a 2.5i? If you have a 2.5T and looking to discuss upgrades (not bolt on kits for an NA engine) wouldn't this discussion be better off in the 2.5T section?

yes it is a 2.5T

MY08 SpecB TB STi

I actually thought I put it in general so we could cover off all Models in the turbo range.

Can an admin move to a better location please

well if it was for the 2.5i, instead of turbo, what about supercharging. found a company in queensland, Raptor superchargers , and they made a super charger kit for the impreza.

http://www.raptorsc.com.au/kits.php?id=20

i assume the ej25 engines in the 2.5i's are the same as the ones in the impreza so this should fit. could be wrong tho

Yes, it is. For proof, just look under your bonnet!

Did you mean VF48?

My bad, I was thinking of the VF42 actually. VF46 is of course the current snail we have.
