Gen III: Crank Position Sensor

Hey Guys,

Just had the 125K service today, and i been having trouble starting the car at random times. So esential the pistons are moving but no ignition.

I had Subaru look at the engine and they said the Crank Position Sensor was either fault or dirty, and they want $390 to fit a new one.

So my question is has anyone with a Gen III or know of someone with a Gen III, ever had theirs changed and could I get a better price buying somewhere else, or would the genuine part be the best option ?

Crank angle sensor? *nervous twitch* *shudders* I had a shit time with that thing on the VL. Don't tell me Subaru's are bad for them too?

Yep, had mine changed on my MY94 WRX.

Was done under warranty, so have no idea what it cost.

Would appear the issue has since been solved Smythie.
