EGR removal for postface Gen 4

Just looking for advice on the best way to remove EGR from my 2008 Gen 4 engine.
My car is a 2004 pre face lib, and so does not have EGR from factory, however the engine has gone and so I am replacing it. I am aware that the later model has a different intake Setup, so I will be swapping the original from the car onto it. This still leaves the egr pipe coming out of the passenger side head. Just looking for advice on whether that can be blanked off or rerouted to suit the earlier car
