Oil Temp/Pressure Gauges

Postby Turbo Lag » Fri Nov 24, 2017 9:58 pm

I'm looking to install an oil temp and pressure gauge on my rather newly rebuilt engine. From reading up, it seems like the oil galley plug method is preferable over the sandwich plate route.

This is the plug that appears to be universal to most Subarus. Part no. 11024AA210. Can be had from many places, a quick Google shows many results. I'm assuming only 1 is needed as the sensor should be shared with both temp/pressure assuming you want the reading from the same place?

From what I've read, there are 3 potential places for the plugs. Is there any location that is preferable in particular? I don't want to lose function of the stock oil light. Has anyone got any pics of where exactly they've installed theres? Tough to find documentation on the 2.5N/A.

Gauges wise, I've been looking at the Defi ZD knockoffs (yeah yeah) or something like the Innovate Motorsports dual function gauges ( http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/prod ... D.php#3852 ). Not fussed on digital/analog but want something that is backlit and dimmable. Are there any cheaper and yet reliable alternatives? I'm not looking for high end stuff - this is purely for track. The prices on the MTX-D are pretty steep IMO.

Are there any guides on installing the gauges on the N/A? A few exist for turbos but haven't yet come across any for N/A.
