Hey everyone just wanted some advise on mods I was thinking of doing and would like everyone's input on things on what they think

TOPGUN 8.8mm leads
NGK Iridium plugs
better ignition coil
Grounding kit
Battery voltage stabilizer
Optima Yellow top battery D35
CAI
Grimmspeed 8mm Phenolic Intake Manifold Spacers
Throttle body Spacer
70mm Throttle body
Megan Racing Engine Mounts
Megan Racing Transmission Mount
Koyo R2218 Aluminum Radiator
Subaru Auto oil cooler kit
OBX Silicone Radiator Hoses
GFB 3 peace pulley set
Kido tune
Weapon R fuel rail adapter
Bigger Injectors
Full custom exhaust system 2.5 into 2.25mm set up

DBA drilled & slotted rotors
green stuff pads

Subaru Modified Valve Body Shift Kit 4EAT

Also not sure on what to do to improve on suspension and handling as well

what I'm mainly after is another 30KW increase and not sure if this can be achieved by tuning alone

Any pics and advise with mods would be greatly appreciated

That $$$$ would net you a set of Shockworks, upgrade LCA's and HD rear sway bar mounts that would gain you a better lap time than all your proposed mods. IMHO.
Probably some nice tyres and pads too :P

If ECU is tuneable (eg kido) that can help your autos response. :good:

Then consider bolt on FI kits from eg raptor or avo, assuming your ECU is tuneable...
Otherwise consider a gt or h6 and go back to step one with the tune & shocks etc.

You have to be considerate with where you direct your resources, eg pending useage, tyre choice will net you better braking distances than bigger brakes.

As your car is a daily, why not direct your resources to handling and braking, both of which will make your car even more capable and enjoyable, if done right :)

plugs/leads - good maintainence.
coil - nothing is wrong with what you have, doesn't get you anywhere

SIMO888 wrote:Grounding kit

Optima Yellow top battery D35

WOFTAM - although new battery is again good maintenance.

SIMO888 wrote:CAI

Good for noise - not much else!

SIMO888 wrote:Grimmspeed 8mm Phenolic Intake Manifold Spacers

70mm Throttle body

eh, maybe this will do something? not sure it's worth it though.

SIMO888 wrote:Megan Racing Engine Mounts

Group N items are a perfect balance IMHO.

SIMO888 wrote:Koyo R2218 Aluminum Radiator

If you are having trouble with cooling .. sure, but it seems like a waste of money if not.

SIMO888 wrote:OBX Silicone Radiator Hoses

Silicone radiator hoses are worse than rubber ones.

SIMO888 wrote:GFB 3 peace pulley set
Kido tune

Yes and yes.

SIMO888 wrote:Weapon R fuel rail adapter
Bigger Injectors

more fuel for what? More fuel is only useful if you can use - which you can't, because you're not bringing in more air.

SIMO888 wrote:Full custom exhaust system 2.5 into 2.25mm set up

yes.

SIMO888 wrote:DBA drilled & slotted rotors

Maybe before doing this, grab a set of brakes from a GT/3.0 - shouldn't run you more than about $400 (Then get better pads/etc)
Also - you don't want drilled rotors.

SIMO888 wrote:Subaru Modified Valve Body Shift Kit 4EAT

This will give you better shifting for sure.

SIMO888 wrote:Also not sure on what to do to improve on suspension and handling as well

LCA bushes, shockworks. This will transform your car.

Do the tuning, then see how you go with anything else. If you really want more power after that (and you don't want to just get a GT or 3.0 or whatever) I would look at putting on a supercharger.

Nice one ^
Add HD rsb mounts if the rest of the setup allows you to drive the nuts off it.

Contact Matt ThrottleHappy/kido for that tune asap ;)

Seems like a decent price for a CAI.

I would go for it if I didn't have my turbo plans.

I upgraded mine from KYB to bilstiens just recently.

I can feel a difference and it was worth it. But I expected more of a difference. I'm constantly wondering if I should have gone with coilovers.

Surge I hope you don't mind my asking but how much did that set you back and is it even worth getting a set from a wrecker's if I can

also what do you think of the whiteline F&R Sway bar - vehicle kit

I got lucky, got them for free from someone who upgraded.

I've seen them go second hand from anywhere between $50 (for ones with a knock) to $400.

Honestly any higher than $400 and I'd just go for some second hand bc br coilovers.

I've got a whiteline front sway bar on my 92 rs liberty but that came with it so I'm not sure of the improvement over stock and what it would be like on a gen 4. Only read that it's well worth the upgrade.

No point fitting Top Gun ignition leads since you have superior coil on plug ignition... no ignition leads to waste spark anyway and obviously no need to upgrade ignition coil since there is 4 of them already

No Valvebody needed for the 4EAT, they handle power of a XT Forester already so abuse from an NA wont affect it

D35 battery wont fit in the stock lcoation

70mm throttlebody wotn work since it is DBW and the manifold size is not big enough to go bigger anyway. Stock DBW throttle is more than big enough for a 2.5L since it is same size as he 3L which we know flows more air than any 2.5i will :)

Wont need bigger injectors or the fuel rail adaptor either :)

Money you saved with get you halfway to coilovers

can someone tell me if a full set the Bilstiens for $550 from a wrecker is worth it and what I should be looking out for when buying them n someone else told me $200 from another wrecker

Wouldnt bother. Shocks from a wrecker is Russian Roulette. I would put that $550 + the money spent to get them fitted and aligned away and build on it to save for coilovers. BC BR coilovers can be had for $1300. Shockworks are better but are $2k worth. You will hands down get better value for money that way and will never need to touch your suspension again ever. Cannot say that for shockers from the wreckers.
