Hi Guys,
Have read the numerous posts on here and the net on this subject, but after filling up last night in Gundagai, our Outback engine light came on.... All oil, coolant and temperature are ok, but car running a bit rough under heavy acceleration (am towing a small trailer) We made it to Sydney (Lane Cove) where we are for the next week.
Does anyone know someone on Sydney's north side who can check my codes and are actually open b/n Xmas and New Year ?
Thanks in advance
Mark

Hey mark. Any of the chain mechanics will be able to check your codes. Places like Jax, ultra tune, midas etc.
Alternatively there is a subaru in Brookville (15-20 mins from lane cove) and I think there's one at Ryde (15-20 mins as well).
Most of the time it's an o2 sensor so still safe enough to drive to mechanics.

I live in McMahons Point - I can help check the code for you with my obdii dongle and torque app

Thanks for the offers and advice guys. I installed a fresh set of plugs and the Subaru workshop at Artarmon gave me a s/h plug lead (they were booked out into the New Year) and all good now with codes reset by the local Caltex.
BTW there's a special at Repco for 4 x NGK Platinum plugs for $24... bargain
Cheers

Good news, thanks!
By the way, you jinxed me.
The battery packed it in on my 3.0R-B and I had to return from Newcastle to Sydney with the Check Engine Light illuminated and the Cruise Control light flashing.
A new battery when I got home and the CEL and Cruise returned to normal.
Connected the FreeSSM and checked for stored trouble codes, however no codes remained stored after the new battery was installed.
If we were not checking your car, then I ended up needing to check my own.
Cheers!
