I've had my 2.5i 03 my04 Liberty for the past 8 months. It has over 220000 kms and im seeing the wear of its previous owners come through. minor aesthetic things i can deal with, light mechanical things, understandable.
But gearbox issues im not too sure about.
4th gear grinds, synchro issues ive been told. Reverse, some days i have to really ruin it trying to just get it into gear.
Gearbox replacement/refurb. Probably going to set me back $1k at the very least, plus id want a new clutch since im pretty sure it's not the best either.
This on top of all the little issues such as the door lock electrics being almost non-existent, horrible suspension, interior wear, clear coat fading, dents and the exhaust falling apart (so I've been told).
I only paid $6.4k originally, should i cut my losses, sell for around $5k and buy something under 180000Kms for around $7k and modify from there?
Or go through with repairs?
Im not sure if it's worth spending $3K on coilovers and a nice wheel setup to only have the rest of the car fall apart on me.
