Installed new fuel pump and car won't start

Hey all,

I've just installed a new fuel filter and fuel pump and everything connected up okay. I tried to start the engine but no go....engine winds over and that's it.
I was told that air may be in the fuel line and may need to bleed it. Where is the bleeder point located?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!
Al

Hey Al,

I don't remember sending you one of my pumps, did the kit you bought come with 2 o-rings? You need both of them...also you have to use the stock collar, that's on the outlet stem...

Hey Jack,

I had a DW65c at home that I installed. I did use the 2 o-rings that came with it, but there was one missing at the base where the head of pump sits in the filter. I used an old one as I needed 3 o-rings.
The pump is working...but won't start. What do you mean by the stock collar?

I may just remove it if it won't start...battery is getting low as well.

Thanks again,
Al

It only needs 2 o-rings, and the collar...I'll post a pic of what it is...when you build fuel pressure the o-rings can slide down the stem of the outlet..so you need the collar...when you mean head of the fuel pump, do u mean the small filter strainer end or the opposite end...because there's a small locking metal ring so the filter doesn't fall off...

It's the plastic piece behind the o-ring...but u need 2 o-rings :) it's should work...

Thanks for the pic! That's helpful, the above pic of the pump where it sits in the filter. I'll need to remove it again and take that collar off the old one.
Back to it..., thanks again Jack!

Hey Jack,
That did the trick! :D
I was surprised that there was nothing in the "How to...?" section of this forum.
It's running well now....many thanks as always!
