Must be the car didn't like whatever oil the usual service company was using.

It may be a different grade of oil.

My Nissan HATES 10w30 but strangely, the 0w20 I am using is staying in for longer than a fish & chips shops fryer oil

Buddah has a point though. If the OP was really losing 500-645ml/1000kms, there is no way a different grade of oil would have anything to do with it.

Perhaps the wrong measurement was taken

I bought a MY09 Sports Premium Liberty Wagon brand new. From June last year, I noticed the oil light was coming on consistenly before each scheduled car service. All the service centre did was top up the oil and no thorough investigation was done to find the cause.

Have done over 1,000KM since the oil was dumped and replaced with UX-100. Dipstick still sitting on 'full' line - Hasn't used a drop. :)
