Had a look only really tells the prices new, now etc. I was more looking to find out the difference between a safety pack and luxury pack and why some have the 2.0 and some 2.5

Almost forgot- There's this thread as well.. Helped me when I needed more than Redbook.

Not sure if safety or luxury packs were optional extras, or just variants on each model...?

  • 2.0 litre cars have half a litre less capacity than 2.5 litre cars.
  • Safety pack cars have more airbags (curtain and side airbags in addition to the front airbags).
  • Luxury cars have leather seats and satnav.
  • Premium cars are a combination of the safety and luxury variants.
  • Gen4's have two different cosmetic designs dubbed pre and post facelift. Pre-facelift (2004 to 2006 models) look somewhat squarer with body detail while post-facelift (2007 to 2009 models) have a sleeker appearance about them with changes to the headlights, taillights and some internal elements.
  • For non-turbo models, post-facelift models are easily tunable as they have a Denso ECU which features flashable memory. Pre-facelift models use a Hitachi ECU which can be read from but are not re-programmable due to a lack of flash memory - tuning is therefore done though third party ECU's.
  • Nine out of ten women prefer men in post-facelift models*.

I was going to procrastinate, but I put it off...
