2.5T in a 2.5i?

Postby antmanyo » Sat May 11, 2013 10:35 pm

Hey guys, long story short i pulled out my motor last night and now looking for a replacement..

But i was wondering if putting a 2.5T in it was worth it, does anyone know what is required, do i need to change anything or is it a straight bolt on?

Please let me know what you think..

Buy a writeoff/halfcut and you should have pretty much everything you need :D

I could go the easy route and just get a straight bolt on, hassle free..

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/GENUINE-ENGI ... e29&_uhb=1

found one on eBay with only 14,500km on it...

Does anyone know what an engine like this would usually go for?

Do this - but that is expensive I'd say

I sold a 2.5 turbo motor with 68,000kms on the clock for 2000 to a lady at work.

One of those na 2.5's could be had in good used condition for around 1500 I would say

Turbo conversion is a lot more involved than you think on these cars due to the canbus setup

Would practically involve rewiring the whole front end and also fuel pump wiring etc. so basically entire wiring loom

Good luck with whichever route you choose :)
