Intake for 2.5NA

Postby circlethesky » Thu Apr 25, 2013 11:51 am

I've been looking everywhere but can't find any information on this, most threads seem to be for turbo libertys.
Would a new intake make any difference on a non turbo liberty, or would it just make a nicer sound?
Every website that sells them has them listed for legacy GTs, would these fit on our libertys?
I have seen there are different trypes of intakes, which would be best? Anyone have any suggestions for a specific site/brand?
Or is it better to just replace the air filter?
thanks guys

What are the advantages of this one compared to a short one? (short ram intake?? :? )

I personally have no idea.
But just going by the ebay description, getting rid of the moulded rubber and replacing it with piping that has a constant radius might be beneficial.

The main reason I would go for this one from ebay is that it lools really cool for the price!
Not sure what the delivery to Australia would cost. That might be a deal breaker.

Im fairly certain that most intakes made for "libertys" would all fit h6,2.5i and gt the one in the eBay link is for h6 or 2.5i but not gt coz they have top mount intercoolers. So design for 2.5i and gt would be different but should all still fit.

Performance wise between that and a shorter one maybe a degree or 2 in intake temp if that the long one will take colder air but has longer to travel and may heat up a bit while a shorter one would suck hotter air but probably wouldn't change temperature much IMO

Would have little difference on a n/a either way but overall getting one will give u a little better throttle response and a deeper exhaust note while also having a nice induction sound :)

I haven't got one I'm still using stock setup but with a k&n hi flow filter I got better throttle response and a nice induction sound from it can't really notice any exhaust difference!

Is there anything like this for a gen 4 liberty?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TAKEDA-RETAIN-S ... 56&vxp=mtr

I like how it has the box around it but as far as I can see they only make them for the gen V.

Pretty sure that will only fit Gen V - although this may fit for your car
