Hey guys, Im quite new to the forums and have currently put a deposit ($200) on the car and wanting to know if there is anything that I should look out for before buying this car.

I went and took it for a test drive on the weekend when I put the deposit down and it looks and feels great.

PLease feel free for suggestions and what I should look out for, Im not planning to get it checked from a mechanic as it is at 80k km's and dont see really much that could cause and hassel but I could be wrong.

It says the servicing had been completed but does that mean all has been done as per time or just by km's?

If it has been done by time has the 100k service been done and hence the timing belt replacement?

I checked the log book and servicing has been done and up to date so far. Timing belt hasn't been replaced as of yet but from what I am aware this usually gets done at the major service at 100k Kms?

That would be the case and if you go by the time at 25k a year 4 years means it would be done. But some just leave it until 100k on the clock. If you are happy to leave it most of the time it will be around $1000 or so to do depending on where. Where has the servicing been done?

Subaru Sti in docklands melbourne. Hopefully it's a good car but just want to be on the safe side.

So you're going to spend $20,000 on a car, and not have it looked over by a mechanic? Purely to set your mind at ease and get a professional oppinion....

Apart from the obvious revs checks, and log books being up to date, there isn't really much else YOU can look for..
